Outstanding! The best camo housing for my Hero 3 ever!

I've been looking for a way to keep my Hero 3 low key as opposed to the shiny clear plastic housing that it comes in. I bought all three of these that Stunt Cams sells (the woodland and the matt black one as well.)I'm an avid hunter and shooter and I've tried the sticker sets as well as one of the neoprene covers. The sticker sets peel and when the corners lift, they become dirt magnets. The neoprene covers fit very sloppily and look and perform awful. I was concerned when I bought one of these that they would not look as good as the one pictured in the post. I was wrong... whoever paints these takes a lot of care to mask off the lens cover and the LCD view screen. The 3 color camo pattern is very well done and due to the lack of paint that's rubbed off (just a tiny bit after months of use in the brush) it's evident that these have several good layers of sealer.One note on the GoPro "Blackout" housing that is selling for $50. First, it's a completely different housing, very flimsy and the cam mechanism on the top is very hard to open. Further, the lens is not replaceable as is the case on these housings. Lastly, none of the extended rear backs are compatible with the "blackout" housings. A good idea, but a FAIL for whoever designed it.So to sum up my review, these are extremely well done, the finish doesn't reflect light and they simply look and perform great. I would buy another one!

This is more of a warning. This replacement housing looks exactly like the Hero HD water housing I have but it's just small enough not to fit. Wonder why they didn't just make them all compatible. Seriously, the difference is 1-2mm. Otherwise great concept and footage. My housing broke however during my first session. In all fairness, the waves were pretty big at a gnarly spot called Yoks on O'ahu's west side.

I bought this to replace my cracked housing on my GoPro Hero. The item itself is great, problem is I bought the wrong size housing. Apparently the "standard" replacement housing does not fit my type of GoPro, so I had to buy the "wide" housing from Best Buy since at the time, Amazon did not sell the "wide" housing.

Works fine on a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition BUT with a throttled bitrate

I decided to purchase the 32Gb Sandisk Extreme rather than the Extreme Pro - mainly because it seems the Pro version is only available in a 16Gb version(?). After testing this card on my new GoPro HERO3: Black Edition (w/the latest 3.03 firmware) in all high resolution and frame rate modes with Protune on (minimum 15 minutes each test), I can say that this card handles it as expected without any issues. However, (as noted in various forums) the new GoPro firmware apparently limits the max bitrate to 35Kbps rather than 45Kbps on all Sandisk cards due to the previous issues with their Ultra cards, and I can personally confirm this is indeed the case. Although I'm satisfied with this card, I may buy another brand of card so that I won't be limited to only 35K - especially since I do a fair amount of video editing in high resolution and prefer the higher bitrate.

If you missed the boat on the last iteration of GoPro's HERO3, don't fret, you waited for just the right amount of time. With the HERO3+ Black Edition, you'll find a reduced size and weight, faster Wi-Fi, enhanced low-light quality, a reduction in distortion, and a battery with 30% longer life. Good things happen for those who wait. Compared to the last HERO3, the HERO3+ Silver Edition has been reduced in size by 15%, and the camera weight was also reduced by 15%. I got a GoPro Motorsports Hero Wide for a gift so that I can use it when I autocross. But I also intended on using it for snowboarding and mountain biking so I bought the Helmet hero expansion kit. I must say, for what you get over the motorsports hero wide, it really aint worth it. But without fabricating my own strapped mount, I wouldn't have a real secure way of mounting it to my helmets. It isn't worth it to me because for seventy bucks, the only thing it comes with that you don't get when you get the motorsports hero wide is the strap that you use to connect to your helmet. It comes with the different mounting clips and the poseable mounting arm, all of which come with the motorsports hero kit already. So unless you're creating all sorts of mounting locations on your helmet (or your friend's helmets), its a waste.Anyways, that said, the strap mount works wonderfully with my Giro 9 helmet. You need at least 2 side by side vents on your helmet to make it work. my helmet has 4 vents towards the front hat I used. The only problem I noticed while riding is the camera tends to push your goggles down a little while your riding so every now and then you need to readjust your helmet and goggles. I got a friend to tell me if the camera was straight and the fish eye type lense made alignment a piece of cake.I also took one of the flat mounts and put it on the front of my board for 1 run. Every couple seconds I looked down to make sure my camera didn't fly off but it held tight! I had to clear the lense of powder from time to time but the video was really cool. The powder was only a couple inches deep. I could see my board flexing like crazy as I went fast along some groomers but the camera stayed surprisingly vibration free the whole time. It was bouncing, but it didn't seem to affect the picture. That goes for when it was on my helmet as well.Anyways, it was fun to bring along and laugh at our selves after a full day of riding.Blast, I totally forgot about the head strap it comes with! A couple of my friends don't wear helmets so I had them wear the helmet cam using the head strap. It puts the camera right on your forehead and fits nicely over your hat. I think it worked just as good as the helmet cam with the exception of it getting in the way of your goggles a little. So really, the strap and the helmet strap mount are the only things it came with that I will get use out of.

I bought the GoPro Motor Sports pack and then added The hemet Hero expansion kit, since at the time I bought it it was I cost about the same for both kits as it would have cost me just to get the Helmet Hero pack by its self. So I ended up with twice as many accessories for the the cost of just the Helmet hero pack. I give it a 3 star though because it came with an extra camera housing but the housing is for the older modle GoPro so it does not fit the new HD and wide models. This was not made clear in the product description. I would have sent it back but I wasn't buying the kit for the housing I was buying for the mounts but it would have been nice to have a spare housing. Its still cheaper to buy the kit instead of the mounts separate if your planning on using the all the mounts in the kit. If your not its then cheaper to buy the mounts mounts you want separate. If you are going to get this expansion pack and you have the GoPro HD or wide you should try and see if you can find a expansion kit with the correct housing so you don't have a worthless housing laying around.
