2Grotesquely overpriced, short-duration solution to fogging GoPro
By A. M. White
I have been using GoPro cams (SD and HD) since they first rolled out into the marketplace, with the primary function of recording in-car SCCA racing video. I have and use all of the attachments and variations. Fogging was and is a major problem inside of the protective case with GoPros. After buying 4 or 5 sets of their AntiFog Inserts, I've come to the conclusion that they are a good short-term solution - although the pricing is OBSCENE. And you need to have a double-ziplock bag full of them if you are going to be shooting for any significant period (or drag around an oven to dry them out). The best solution for us so far is to not use the sealed case ... use the open back whenever possible, and use the sealed case with dessicators when it's rainy. Now the 2-stars really is about cost: the GoPro system has a chronic problem with fogging ... the manufacturer should respond by either fixing the problem or by making these strips available for just over cost (instead of stopping you on the highway, robbing you, and then taking your kid's stuffed bear). This kind of behavior sends me off looking for other solutions, of which now there are many.

5Works Well. Expensive For What It Is, Though...
By N. Kline
The first time I took my GoPro up in my open cockpit ultralight plane, I was saddened to find out, at the end of the flight, my GoPro case had fogged up pretty badly. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that GoPro makes these strips to combat that exact problem. I bought some and they do indeed work. I've had a couple flights now and the case remains dry and the resultant videos crystal clear [...].But they're expensive strips of paper. They're not really paper, but whatever they are, I'm sure if you Google for a DIY solution, you'll find some. I think people have been using cork with decent results. However, if you're after a quick, need-it-now solution and have $14 to spend, these works well and are indeed reusable. The package comes with a paper hydrometer (or hygrometer?) that detects moisture in the zip lock baggie they come with. Let's you know if they're still good, I guess.

5Works nicely
By P. Nies
Definitely a must for water sports video. Gets rid of all fog in the housing, especially on the lens. Arrived quickly too.
